Rapid River Trip Class IV
The Rapid River is a legendary adventure among paddlers. However, it is so remote that commercial outfitters stopped running it years ago. Raft NH is reviving the legend of the Rapid River. As the closest solid Class IV river from Boston, this trip fills up fast! Let us transport you from our base in Gorham, NH through the deep woods to an adrenaline packed adventure. Above average physical condition is highly recommended. This trip starts out with a gorgeous 30 minute/1.5 mile paddle across "Pond in the River" where our experienced Maine Guides teach you how to paddle the raft. From there, it's all downhill, which is a good thing if you are rafting! Rapid after rapid with successively increasing intensity for 4 miles is what gives this river its legendary status. Holes the size of SUV's and towering waves will have you asking when we can go again! Finish off the river trip with a relaxing raft tow across the pristine Umbagog Lake. Lay back, take in the blue skies and share tales from the river.
Eat a hearty breakfast, we'll take care of providing snacks on the river and wrap up this intense day with our incredible freshly prepared meal at our local restaurant partner. Sit back and relax as you enjoy the hearty late afternoon/early evening meal at a local eatery with a rotating menu - think fresh & hot pasta dishes, tossed fresh salads, seasonal vegetables, barbecue days and of course dessert! Adult beverages and ice cream available for purchase to cap off your day.
Guests age 14 and over may participate due to the remote and extreme nature of this trip. There are very few evacuation points, once you start you are committed to the entire journey!
$115 per participant for one trip down the river – includes all transportation, tow across the lake and a memorable freshly prepared dinner with friends & adrenaline buddies!
